31 DAYS OF WAR MOVIES | 1. JOYEUX NOEL (2005) | WWI 

Tonight, these men were drawn to that altar like it was a fire in the middle of winter. Even those who arent devout came to warm themselves.

If you get to watch only one film this Christmas, then I highly recommend Joyeux Noel.

Not only is is wonderfully historical and all the characters speak in their native language (it’s subtitled when needed, don’t worry), but it’s also heartwarming and heartbreaking at the sametime.

Never not this film!

(Although I must admit whilst the massive theme of ‘it doesn’t matter what nationality or side you’re on, everyone is a good person’ is in play, it irks me that the English are seen as awful, nasty, ‘it’s their fault for this’ bastards…kiiiiiiinda destroys your image just because you’re showing the Scottish side of the British Forces…but I digress. That is the one small slighty annoying thing in this film… :I)
